Solutions Architect Intern

About this Role

Solutions architecture is where business requirements turn into technical decisions. You'll work alongside senior engineers to define system designs, choose appropriate tech stacks, and produce architecture documentation that development teams follow through the entire project lifecycle. You'll evaluate cloud services on AWS and GCP, design data flow diagrams, and present technical proposals to clients in language they can understand and approve. This is the highest-leverage technical role in the organization — and also the most intellectually demanding.

What You'll Do

• Gather and translate client requirements into structured technical specification documents
• Design system architecture diagrams — data flows, service boundaries, and integration points
• Evaluate and recommend technology stacks based on project requirements, budget, and scale
• Create cloud architecture proposals using AWS or GCP services with cost estimations
• Document API contracts, data models, and service interfaces before development begins
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies in pre-build planning phases
• Present architecture decisions to clients and internal teams with clear reasoning

What We're Looking For

• Strong conceptual understanding of system design principles (scalability, reliability, separation of concerns)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms — AWS, GCP, or Azure — at a conceptual level
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in writing and verbally
• Exposure to multiple technology stacks so you can compare tradeoffs objectively
• Structured thinking — you can break big ambiguous problems into clear components
